Community Scholarship Program through the Spencer County Community Foundation
DEADLINE TO APPLY IS JANUARY 19, 2026
Many of our donors have honored their loved ones, communities, high schools, colleges, or professions by endowing scholarship opportunities through the Foundation. We administer separate scholarship funds established by individuals, families, corporations, and organizations to assist local students in pursuit of advanced education. Together, these scholarships make up our Community Scholarship Program.

Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Scholarship
If you are a descendant of a graduate of the Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing,
this scholarship opportunity could be for you if you are pursuing a license

Ferdinand Post 124 American Legion Scholarship
This scholarship is open to a senior who is a child or grandchild of any Ferdinand Post 124 member, Sons of Legion member, or Auxiliary member. This scholarship can be used for any four-year college, trade school, or a community college to obtain an associate degree. This application must be returned to the Ferdinand Legion Post.

This scholarship is awarded to a child or grandchild of an Eighth District Auxiliary member. This application must be returned to the Ferdinand Legion Post.
Gill-Wedding Orthodontics - 2026 scholarship
The Gill • Wedding Orthodontics Scholarship Program awards two nonrenewable $1500 scholarships annually with $750 distributed each semester beginning in the fall. All scholarship money will go directly to the school to be applied towards tuition, books, fees, housing, or related expenses. If the student does not continue full time status for the second semester, the remaining $750 will not be awarded.

Must be of Hispanic heritage
U.S. citizen, permanent legal resident, or DACA

Kimball International Scholarship Program
The Kimball International Scholarship Program is a long-standing program. Since 1963, the foundation has awarded more than 400 college scholarships to children of Kimball International employees. There a two types of scholarships are awarded:
Kimball International Scholarship ($2,000) – Available to students attending two and four-year colleges/universities. Applicants must be a dependent of an active part-time or full-time U.S. Kimball International employee or a past Kimball International scholarship recipient.

- Bob Schneider Skilled Trades Scholarship (up to $2,000 depending on the cost of tuition, books and equipment for the program the recipient will attend) – Available to students pursuing a skilled trades certification at an accredited institution. This scholarship is open to the general public and does not require any association with a Kimball International employee.

St Vincent DePaul Scholarship

Amount: $500-$2,000
Description: Funded through the generosity of private donors.
There are approximately 100 USI Foundation scholarships reserved for new,
